Falcon Judo Club

Our club is part of the British Judo Council. The club offers children the opportunity to receive high-quality coaching in judo. All instructors are fully qualified, hold current first aid certifications, and have undergone DBS checks to ensure a safe and professional environment.

We welcome parents/ carers of younger members to all training sessions and value your support. the partnerships between club, child and parent/ carer is so important to us that we have a special Parent/ carer Agreement that we ask you to read when your child joins the club. it should be noted that the club cannot be responsible for children outside of the dojo. To operate safely, we require two emergency contacts and details of any medical/ allergy issues for each child. You should collect your child as soon as the session has ended.

As a contact sport, it is important that we have rules for everyone’s safety. Please take a moment to read the Club Rules published on our website. If your child is the member, please read them to your child, as we find that an explanation and reinforcement from a parental figure greatly assists our coaches and settles the children into the club more quickly.

If at any time you would like any further information, have any concerns or would like to help with the club, the coaches will be happy to help.

Club history

Falcon judo club is based at St Mark’s Catholic Primary School, Ipswich.

The history of the club goes back to 24th October 2007, when the club started in the Harrier Community Hall (Hatfield).   With the help of Herts Sport Partnership and its links with local schools our club started to grow and secure its future. In January 2011 it moved to Jim McDonald Centre in Hatfield.

However, with the expansion of the club to Woolmer green and Heath Mount, it was in need of uniformity. Therefore, all the satellite clubs and the main club came under one banner.

From 2011-12, the club ran competitions that were very well attended.

 The club’s motto:

Fortitudo est Voluntatis!

Club vision:

Our vision is to have an inclusive community club, where everyone is given the opportunity to participate, progress and perform.

The club’s aims:

“To preserve and promote the martial art of judo, by teaching judo to the highest quality standard possible, through hard work and continuous practice to develop excellent judo players in a fun & friendly atmosphere”.
